Inclusive Duniya Schools Programme

Imagine a school where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Classrooms where learning and thinking differences are embraced and every learner is able to thrive. This is the reality we envision with our Inclusive Duniya School Programme.

Every child deserves to learn in an inclusive environment

School forms the bedrock of a child’s journey: the first place we experience the joys of learning, forging connections, and feeling a sense of community. Here, the foundation is laid for how we perceive the world around us and our place within it.

An inclusive learning environment is life-changing for all students. Inclusive teaching and learning leads not only to improved academic outcomes in students, but also to enhanced social and emotional competencies. Our national policies mandate inclusive education. Yet, in many mainstream classrooms, effectively supporting the diverse needs of students remains a challenge. This often results in limited access to meaningful educational opportunities and social isolation.

As educators foster inclusive practices in schools and classrooms, they naturally transition into champions of inclusion, playing a vital role in cultivating a culture of acceptance across the entire school community.

An Inclusive Duniya empowers us all – teachers, students, and the entire school. We are here to help create classrooms embracing all abilities.

We engage key stakeholders in schools and provide customised support

Teachers

Building Capacity: We train teachers to equip them with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to understand intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and implement effective inclusive teaching practices.

Ongoing Support for Teachers’ Network: We extend post-training support to ensure the sustained application of learned skills and inclusive teaching practices. With regular support sessions, we help teachers tackle practical classroom challenges with catering to diverse learners. Through this, we also build a community of teachers for peer learning and continuous professional development.

Students

Inclusive Duniya SEL Curriculum: We offer teaching and learning materials for social-emotional learning sessions using our unique comic series – Naina’s Inclusive Duniya. Through interactive storytelling and reflective conversations, the sessions aim to cultivate the CASEL competencies.

Inclusive Duniya School Club: Our Inclusive Duniya School Club nurtures students as change makers and inclusivity champions, with educational content and learning experiences designed to develop students’ knowledge, skills and mindsets for inclusivity.

Social Internship Programme: We offer students a unique opportunity to experience working in the social development sector. Participants deepen their understanding of neurodevelopmental disabilities while working on education and awareness-building initiatives.

Parents

Fostering Strong Parent-Teacher Relationships: We build the capacity of teachers to foster collaborative relationships with parents for effective support for students with IDD.

School Leaders

Our workshops help build the capacity of school leaders to foster inclusivity in their schools and support staff members to implement inclusive practices.
