Awareness and Allyship

Have you ever had an aha moment, where everything makes sense all at once? This Eureka effect is that instant clarity we all seek because it gives us a sudden understanding of a previously incomprehensible problem or concept. Unlike the shift in understanding that accompanies these epiphanies, fostering a deeper comprehension of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) within mainstream society requires an intentional and ongoing journey. But does it have to be so enigmatic?

Persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PwIDD) share our world, breathing the same air and navigating the same streets. But can we say our surroundings are safe and enabling for them? Most likely not. But why? What does IDD mean and where does the road to social inclusion begin? How can we, as a society, ensure that no one is left behind?

If you have found yourself here, it means you are eager to learn more about the lived experience of PwIDDs. And you have come to the right place!

‘Inclusive Duniya’ is our flagship initiative where we cultivate awareness and allyship for PwIDDs through content and open conversation. Here, you will discover a comprehensive library of resources, campaigns, and insights that will equip you with the knowledge and tools to create your own Inclusive Duniya.

If you are a teacher, we invite you to join our growing community of educators who are committed to inclusive practices and creating classrooms. Through our workshops, content and community, you’ll find support, inspiration, and practical strategies to make learning accessible and meaningful for neurodiverse students. Head on over to our Teachers’ Page.

If you are a student, join our Youth Community. You can explore the world of neurodiversity, build skills, and lead conversations that challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion. Do this through volunteering, our internship programme or starting a project of your own in your school or community! Head on over to our Students’ Page.
