What is The Sarvodya Approach?
Education
Our tailored training provides educators with comprehensive support, equipping them with both knowledge and practical skills to understand IDD and implement inclusive teaching practices effectively. We also provide Teaching Learning Material (TLM) to integrate social-emotional learning into their classrooms.
Community
We nurture youth volunteers as change makers and champions for inclusion, supporting them in learning about IDD and developing core allyship competencies. These trained volunteers then facilitate Inclusive Duniya Circles within their communities, fostering understanding and support for diversity.
The Allyship Framework
We work to empower the mainstream population to become stronger allies for the inclusion of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PwIDD). But what qualities define a good ally, and how can they be cultivated? We offer a structured approach to build these skills, guiding individuals toward meaningful allyship for PwIDDs. Our approach, informed by the lived experience of PwIDDs, takes allies on a personalised learning journey, co-creating projects that combine the needs of their community with their own interest and skills, in order to make their work sustainable, impactful and personally meaningful.
If you have a personal connection to PwIDDs, work in a youth-focused organisation, are an educator, or work closely with students, we would be delighted to share more with you.
